"I was proud to be flown by the best." **Insert Patriotic Music Here** Michael 'That Was a Hundred Times Cooler Than Armageddon' Bay knows this:  Real Military look better on screen than actors.  So, while filming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, he was sure to feature some of the US's best!  The Airmen of the Atlus Air Force Base in Oklahoma were in several scenes, including those featuring the C17's - the Cargo Jet that the toy Stratosphere was based on!  Read the full story of their involvement, and how they affected the film, at the US Air Force Website!

I hope Egypt doesn't mind us trashing the place...Curious on the experience of Michael Bay, cast, and crew when it came to shooting on the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt as well the ruins in Petra, Jordan for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? In the case of the Pyramids, it was when their permit wasn't ready by the time they got to Egypt that they got lucky with a loophole on reaching the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass. On Petra, Bay had to get his crew back to work when they were shooting home video of the ruins rather than shooting the film.

Check it out at Bay's site or at USA Today!

All those terabytes...Interested in some of the mechanics behind the special effects for our beloved transforming alien robots? Read up these two articles! Visual Effects Supervisor Scott Farrar worked not just on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but also Transformers, Jurassic Park, Men In Black, and Minority Report, to name a few other big films. Farrar talked to The Film Yap about the changes done to the original Transformers and alongside improvements. Some of the ILM crew talked with Studio Daily on the more technical details when it came to dealing with the IMAX format, such as shooting an entirely new library of effects (smoke, dust, dirt, etc.) due to resolution differences of a normal 2000 resolution to 4K resolution that works on IMAX.

Read up Scott Farrar's words at The Film Yap, and check out Studio Daily's interview with some of the ILM crew!

ANOTHER DELAY?! BLASPHEMY!Wondering about "Transformers: Art of the Movies " that's supposed to have glorious hi-res photos from Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? There's a bit of a catch. As most of the online retailers are showing the book is either out-of-stock/print, release date of next year, or none at all, it's because the book has hit a bit of a delay. Simon Furman's response on the TF Generations 2009 entry at his blog indicates that it's waiting approval and clearances, and it's out of his and Titan's hands at the moment.

Read his response at his blog.
